Super chocolaty and chewy, this is my new favorite cookie. I’d been eyeing this recipe for chewy chocolate cookies for a while now and finally had a reason to make them: potluck at the movies in the Hollywood Cemetery!
This made 12 big cookies (I only wanted to use one baking sheet) with some leftover batter for tasting. You could use another cookie sheet and get more cookies out of it!
1 cup flour
1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup + 2 tablespoon butter softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl.
- In a mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugars until fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla and blend until well mixed.
- Add the flour mixture and mix until just mixed.
- Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop onto parchment lined cookie sheets and bake for 10-12 minutes for big cookies, 8-9 for small cookies.
