Recipe is based on the moong dal tadka recipe from a\u00a0great blog <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vegrecipesofindia.com\/moong-dal-tadka\/\" target=\"_blank\">Veg Recipes of India.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>1 teaspoon olive oil<br \/>\n1 onion chopped<br \/>\n1 tomato chopped<br \/>\n1\/2 inch ginger minced<br \/>\n1 cup yellow moong dal<br \/>\n1\/4 teaspoon chili powder<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon turmeric<br \/>\n4 cups water<br \/>\n1 tablespoon olive oil<br \/>\n1 teaspoon cumin seeds<br \/>\n4-5 garlic cloves smashed with the side of a big knife<br \/>\n1 or 2 green chilis slice lengthwise<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon garam masala<br \/>\nPinch asafoetida\/hing<br \/>\nSalt<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat oil in a pressure cooker, add the onions\u00a0and saute for a couple of minutes, then add the tomato, ginger, yellow moong dal, chili powder and turmeric and saute for a couple more minutes. Add the water and then pressure cook for about 6 minutes after the first whistle (I heat on high and then turn to low after the first whistle).<\/li>\n<li>In a tadka or other small pan, heat the rest of the oil and add the cumin seeds. Once they start to pop, add the garlic and green chilis for a few seconds.
