It combines a rich tomato\u00a0gravy\u00a0with cream and methi leaves. In this case, I used kasoori methi which are dried methi\/fenugreek leaves. You can get kasoori methi at an Indian market. I&#8217;m loving this herb\/spice the more I use it. Both the fresh and dried leaves impart such a nutty and sweet aroma on a dish! This recipe is adapted from <a title=\"Tomato &amp; Pea Curry with Kasoori Methi\" href=\"http:\/\/www.jaisruchi.com\/2011\/09\/tomato-and-peas-curry-with-kasuri-methi.html\" target=\"_blank\">this recipe on Ruchi&#8217;s blog<\/a>. We had it with frozen whole wheat paratha, yogurt and papad.<\/p>\n<p>1 tablespoon oil<br \/>\n1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)<br \/>\n1 onion chopped<br \/>\n2 green chilis chopped<br \/>\n1 teaspoon ginger minced<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon turmeric<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon chili powder<br \/>\n1 teaspoon coriander powder<br \/>\n1 teaspoon garam masala<br \/>\n1 can petite diced tomatoes<br \/>\nSalt<br \/>\n1\/2 cup half &amp; half (or milk)<br \/>\nA little water<br \/>\n2 tablespoons kasoori methi leaves<br \/>\n1 1\/2 to 2 cups of frozen peas<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat oil in a saute pan and add the cumin seeds.<\/li>\n<li>Once the cumin seeds start to brown, add the onions and saute until translucent, adding the green chilis and ginger part way through cooking.<\/li>\n<li>Add the turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, tomatoes, and salt and cook for a few minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the cream and a little water and blend a little with an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/B000EGA6QI\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=B000EGA6QI&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=mayabugs-20\" rel=\"nofollow\">immersion blender<\/a><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none !important; margin: 0px !important;\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.assoc-amazon.com\/e\/ir?t=mayabugs-20&amp;l=as2&amp;o=1&amp;a=B000EGA6QI\" width=\"1\" height=\"1\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0to get a nice gravy (it doesn&#8217;t need to be smooth).<\/li>\n<li>Add the kasoori methi leaves and peas and cook until the peas are heated through and the flavors meld.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"social-likes social-likes_notext\" data-title=\"Pea & Tomato Curry w\/ Kasoori Methi\" data-url=\"https:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/pea-tomato-curry-w-kasoori-methi\/\" data-counters=\"yes\"><div class=\"facebook\" title=\"Share link on Facebook\"><\/div><div class=\"plusone\" title=\"Share link on Google+\"><\/div><div class=\"twitter\" data-via=\"mayabugs\" title=\"Share link on Twitter\"><\/div><div class=\"pinterest\" title=\"Share image on Pinterest\" data-media=\"http:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Pea-Tomato-Curry-with-Kasoori-Methi.jpg\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This awesome curry is kind of a cross between&nbsp;methi malai mutter (peas with methi leaves) and this other simple pea and tomato dish that we like.
