I am not sure how I got the email, but I could have sworn the recipe came from <a title=\"Cook's Country\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cookscountry.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Cook&#8217;s Country<\/a>, but when I searched for C<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">aramel Tomatoes I got nothing. Anyways, the original recipe says to bake the tomatoes in the oven for a while and then cook them again on the stove. It was for some crazy legnth of time that I bet would have made the absolutely delicious, but I choose a much simpler route. I used little tomatoes (instead of big ones) and just cooked them for about 25 minutes in the toaster oven. They were still wow! We had them with <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\" title=\"Humboldt Fog\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cypressgrovechevre.com\/cheeses\/ripened-cheeses\/humboldt-fog.html\" target=\"_blank\">Humbodlt Fog cheese<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">, amazing cheese which you can get at whole foods.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/american-recipes\/caramel-tomatoes\/attachment\/caramel-tomatoes-before-cooking\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3462\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-3462\" title=\"Caramel Tomatoes Before Cooking\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Caramel-Tomatoes-Before-Cooking.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"478\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Caramel-Tomatoes-Before-Cooking.jpg 640w, https:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Caramel-Tomatoes-Before-Cooking-400x298.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>1 container small or cherry tomatoes sliced in half<br \/>\nSalt<br \/>\n~1\/2 cup brown sugar<br \/>\n~2-3 tablespoons butter melted<br \/>\nFresh ground pepper<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Lay the tomatoes flat side up in a baking dish.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle generously with salt (tomatoes really soak up salt).<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle the tomatoes with the brown sugar.<\/li>\n<li>Drizzle on the melted butter.<\/li>\n<li>Sprinkle with the fresh ground pepper.<\/li>\n<li>Bake at 375 degrees for about 25 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Serve with cheese and\u00a0baguette.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<div class=\"social-likes social-likes_notext\" data-title=\"Caramel Tomatoes\" data-url=\"https:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/caramel-tomatoes\/\" data-counters=\"yes\"><div class=\"facebook\" title=\"Share link on Facebook\"><\/div><div class=\"plusone\" title=\"Share link on Google+\"><\/div><div class=\"twitter\" data-via=\"mayabugs\" title=\"Share link on Twitter\"><\/div><div class=\"pinterest\" title=\"Share image on Pinterest\" data-media=\"http:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/Caramel-Tomatoes.jpg\"><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I got the idea for these tomatoes from a recipe I received in an email.
