We served it at a get together with <a title=\"Andhra Egg &amp; Vegetable Biryani\" href=\"http:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/indian-recipes\/andhra-egg-vegetable-biryani\/\">Andhra egg and vegetable biryani<\/a> and onion raita. The recipe is\u00a0adapted from\u00a0<a title=\"Sailu's Kitchen Side Gravy for Biryani\" href=\"http:\/\/www.sailusfood.com\/2010\/07\/20\/side-gravy-for-biryani\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sailu&#8217;s Kitchen<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>3 tablespoons oil<br \/>\n4 cloves<br \/>\n2 cardamom<br \/>\n2 pieces cinnamon bark<br \/>\n10 curry leaves<br \/>\n4 onions sliced<br \/>\n2 green chilis chopped<br \/>\n7 tomatoes cut into wedges<br \/>\n2 teaspoon ginger paste<br \/>\n2 Trader Joe&#8217;s frozen garlic cubes<br \/>\n2 teaspoon chili powder<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon turmeric<br \/>\n1 teaspoon coriander powder<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon cumin powder<br \/>\n1\/2 teaspoon garam masala<br \/>\n7-8 cashews<br \/>\n6 tablespoons desicatted coconut<br \/>\n6 tablespoons thick coconut milk<br \/>\nSalt<br \/>\n1\/2 cup cilantro chopped<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Heat oil in a medium stock and cook\u00a0cloves, cardamom, cinnamon until fragrant.<\/li>\n<li>Add curry leaves and cook for another minute.<\/li>\n<li>Add onions and cook until brown and translucent, adding the green chilis part way through cooking.<\/li>\n<li>Add tomatoes, ginger paste, garlic, turmeric, coriander, cumin powder, \u00a0and garam masala.<\/li>\n<li>In another medium skillet toast the cashews and coconut until lightly brown.
