Curd chilis. Chilis soaked in yogurt and salt and dried. My mother in law sent them to me along with a request for marathi moggu. She said they are good fried and served with curd rice. I had some leftover rice and decided to make curd rice like I learned back in college from my roommate, adding in the curd chilis. Very simple and very tasty!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/indian-recipes\/curd-rice-curd-chillies\/attachment\/curd-chilly-chaunk\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-2445\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2445\" title=\"Curd Chilly Chaunk\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Curd-Chilly-Chaunk-1024x764.jpg\" width=\"1024\" height=\"764\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Curd-Chilly-Chaunk-1024x764.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mayabugs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/Curd-Chilly-Chaunk-400x298.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>1-1\/2 cups cooked basmati rice<br \/>\n1\/3 &#8211; 1\/2 cups yogurt<br \/>\n2 teaspoons oil<br \/>\n2-3 curd chillies<br \/>\n~1\/2 teaspoon jeera (cumin seeds)<br \/>\n~1\/2 teaspoon mustard seeds<br \/>\n3-4 curry leaves<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>If rice isn&#8217;t warm, microwave it for a minute or two.<\/li>\n<li>Stir in yogurt and a little salt (not too much since the chillies are salt).<\/li>\n<li>Heat oil in a small skillet.<\/li>\n<li>Fry curd chillies, jeera, and mustard seeds until the chillies get brown and the mustard seeds pop.<\/li>\n<li>Pour onto rice.
