Yesterday, my husband, Tejas, and I went on a couples meetup to the\u00a0The Grilled Cheese Invitational<\/a>. So much fun! But afterwards, we needed something light for dinner. So I made up some of Tejas’s recipe for aloo mutter.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

1 tablespoon oil
\n1 teaspoon cumin
\n1 onion chopped
\n1\/2 teaspoon turmeric
\n1\/2 teaspoon chili powder
\n2 teaspoons coriander ground
\n1\/2 teaspoon amchur powder (optional)
\n~2 cups tomatoes (I used 2 fresh chopped tomatoes + 1 1\/2\u00a0cups canned)
\n3\/4 cup frozen peas
\n3-4 small potatoes cut into chunks
\nSalt
\n1-2 tablespoons sour cream<\/p>\n

  1. Heat oil in a medium saucepan and add cumin.<\/li>\n
  2. Once the cumin toasts a little, add the onions and cook until they are a little translucent and brown.<\/li>\n
  3. Add the spices and then the tomatoes and cook for a minute or so.<\/li>\n
  4. Add the peas, potatoes, salt, and a little water.<\/li>\n
  5. Cook over medium low heat with the lid on until the potatoes are tender, stirring\u00a0occasionally,\u00a0and adding water if necessary.<\/li>\n
  6. Stir in the sour cream and serve.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    I had to include a grilled cheese pic. This one was from Granville Cafe and it was delicious!<\/p>\n
